ART IS MAINLY A POLITICAL ACT.

You see Kyriakos Papadopoulos [right] visually explaining to me and Gregory Frangos [left] the concept of NEIGHBOURHOOD which became the theme of the 3rd installation of SANTORINI BIENNALE. If I remember correct, Kyriakos Papadopoulos postulated ART IS MAINLY A POLITICAL ACT in 2012 when I met him for the first time. It was at a time when the people in Greece could not afford to buy oil and cut their forests down to warm their homes. — Maybe you think Greece is a warm and sunny country, but not the northern part. There are high mountains and it gets brutally cold in the winter. The installation DREAMT FOREST was born and out of the Greek crisis THE METAVERSE found a space in a world known Biennale. I called the newborn section IMMERSIVIA – Immersive Interactive Art. It was 2014. Read about what Nara Nook wrote when a few years later the HG Safari visited the conserved installation …

From there on IMMERSIVIA has spread and happens now not only at SANTORINI BIENNALE. Known events are: 1Biennale, THE FAKED IN THE WRONG, and in 2022: AMERIKA.ART

Now you know where the statement ART IS MAINLY A POLITICAL ACT has its roots. And also you know why the META is not just something we jumped on recently like so many do.
